What the open-jar symbol means
The period-after-opening symbol shows a number followed by M, such as 12M. It indicates the period the product is intended to remain usable after first opening under normal storage.
This calculator adds that period to your opened date, then uses an earlier printed expiry if you provide one. Discard a product sooner if its smell, colour or texture changes.
Skincare expiration FAQ
What does 12M mean on skincare?
It means a period after opening of 12 months.
Is a batch-code database required?
No. This calculator uses the date you opened the product and the PAO printed on its package; it does not guess manufacturing dates.
